I Know Celtics, I Know.

November 28, 2012

The Celtics look much better now than a few weeks or months ago when they were opening up the season to the Miami Heat. They look lost but I know it was just the first game, so be it. They got blown out by twenty.  Then the Bucks came to Boston on opening night and just straight up out played them. ‘Ok,” I didn’t throw in the towel. I’m not like those overpaid Red Sox fans, when they are changing the rotation after a grapefruit game or want to trade Big Pappi for three Triple A pitchers. So they go down to D. C to get their grove back at the Version Center to only play like punks.  I know, I know, they got the edge and got the win, so be it. Look, I know they got a few new guys, Green, Wilcox, Barbosa, Lee and Jared Sullinger, the rookie from the draft and then, also, bringing in the veteran Jason Terry. “Yea,” we got a nice boat.  These boys can run. So why can’t we put together a three game winning streak? Rondo is the general on the floor “The Clinic” or what Pierce said, “Its Rondo’s team.” So let’s go! These young boys can run with Rondo and Rondo can set them up in transition. Let’s feed off Rondo, ride number 9 cause if Rondo doesn’t play well, the team won’t play good period. We saw this plenty of times, a double-double, triple-double – who cares, we want triple wins in the books. Don’t get me wrong he gets everybody involved; it’s like an afternoon tea party. Everybody gets a piece of the rock (15 points, 16 assists, 9 rebounds) last night against the Orlando Magic. Tying Johnny Stocky Boy for the 37th straight game with double assists, the second longest streak in NBA history. “OK” but how about the first to go on some kind of winning streak. “Yo” its how you play the game I know but where are the pick and roll brothers, (John Stockton and Karl Malone) no Larry O’Brien trophies. Lookup Karl Malone, he’s properly out in Utah sporting his cowboy hat, tight wrangler jeans and a pair of snakeskin cowboy boots with some spurs attach, roping cattle. I’m saying KG and Paul had twenty plus and Sullinger came off the bench scoring 11 points with 6 rebounds in 19 minutes in an overtime game with the Magic. “Com-on man” the Orlando Magic is a rebuilding team with 11 new players and coach. The Celtics should be blowing the opposing team out by a least 15 or 20 no doubt.  Although Jeff Green had a bad game, he kept shooting, which is good because that will open up the floor to free up Jason Terry for those long launching three’s. Set the pick and release for Brandon “No Pass” Bass (13 points) for that fifteen footer at the foul line. It’s good 40 percent of the time. Barbosa (11 points) can slash the lane and shoot the three, so what is the problem, we got players that can ball. The Celtics shouldn’t be going into overtime with these east coast bums. Maybe the Heat, Knicks, Philly, Brooklyn and Atlanta, but otherwise pick up the defense because KG alone is not going to be able to hold on to that intense pit bull lock down “D” every game. I do have a passion about the game and how it’s played but like Stephen. A Smith wouldn’t say. “John and Karl are not personal friends of mine.” So, I do like wrangler jeans
